We've bought our Takahe 10 nine years ago from Equip Outdoors and it's been fantastic. It's been used most years with some serious weather thrown at it and no issues. In the high winds it flexes better than most tents around and we've had impressed campers commenting on how well it handles nasty winds.
The fly seams are starting to show a few leaks now so we will reseal it and carry on.
Putting it up isn't too complicated . The front "lobby" room is awesome when it gets rainy and let's plenty of ventilation through for drying towels etc. No parts have broken and we'd definitely look at getting another Takahe when we need a 2nd tent

The frame folds out and snicks into shape really quickly and easily, then just extend the uprights until they click rather satisfyingly and solidly into place.
The inner stays clipped to the frame, so that's sorted. Just slide the outer fly over the top, a few velcro tabs to the frame, and peg-out the guys. Job done !
Bought this to replace a Jetset 10 inflatable, which went pop ! This feels like it should be more robust.
It seems pretty well put together. It has already survived some good rain and wind without any issues at all.
I did add some decent screw-in pegs for the guys; this is a big tent to hold down in a strong wind.
Inside is a decent space, though to accommodate 10 people they would have to be very friendly :-)
We got a queen sized bed in comfortably, with room to walk around, a couple of bags, plus a table and 2 chairs inside.
The sides do slope in somewhat, so the space is not quite as use-able as the footprint might suggest.
The square-ish shape is roomier than a dome tent, though, in my opinion.
It's surprisingly draughty inside : the all-mesh roof of the inner is probably great for ventilation in hot weather, not so great in September in NZ.
Ceiling hooks for lights, plenty of cable-management tabs, and a zipped power-port are all nice touches.
A couple of mesh pockets inside are handy, but a few more would be even handier.
Good sized zip/mesh doors round 3 sides. I like that both ends open with an awning, as well as the 2 big doors across the front.
Overall, very pleased with my purchase so far; its giving good service & I'm happy to recommend it.

So glad we found this. Had an old fashioned one years ago Alluminium but now have a bright shiny stainless steel one, Coffee fix daily in our caravan. Thanks

Fits good and really bright on full, love the ability to dim and widen light.
