A double width 172 x 190 cm silk sleeping bag liner that fits two people. Ideal for lining two sleeping bags that have been zipped together. Rectangular in shape. Light elastic at the top draws in the opening. The stuff-bag for storage is permanently attached to the Silksak so it can't be lost.
Silk’s natural properties of lightness, strength and breathability make sleeping in a Silksak sleeping bag a pleasure. Silk will help keep you warm if you are cold and cool if you are hot. When travelling in warm climates SilkSaks are a light alternative to a regular sleeping bag. When used inside a sleeping bag they add extra warmth and keep your bag clean. Instead of cleaning the sleeping bag, wash the Silksak. They are easily washed by hand or a gentle machine wash. The light fabric dries very fast.

NB: The seam stretch happens as a result of people moving around in their sleep, inadvertently "stetching" the seam. It is a result of the natural fibre having its own amount of give, and doesn't affect either the strength or durability of the item. This is a common occurance and not a fault.
How do I care for my SilkSak?
EASY CARE WASHING GUIDELINES
- Turn your SilkSak inside out and wash gently by hand or machine
- Cool to warm temperatures are best. Do not overheat with a hot-water wash or hot iron.
- Use a mild detergent, such as a wool wash. There’s no need for harsh chemicals such as strong washing powders or bleach. These contain brighteners and whiteners that can damage the silk fibre.
- Rinse well. Squeeze or gentle spin excess water. Do not wring.
- Line dry or hang inside out of direct sunlight. No tumble driers required. It doesn’t take long!
- Cool iron only (set iron to delicate or wool setting)
Allow 5% shrinkage
DO NOT
- Do not rub a stain. This causes fading
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not dry in direct sunlight, sun fades garments
- Do not use washing powders or stain remover, these can strip the colour & make the fabric ‘chalky’ to touch
TIPS & TRICKS
- To refresh your SilkSak, soak overnight in a bucket of cool to lukewarm water with a half-cup of white vinegar added. The vinegar neutralises the alkaline build up left by sweat and washing powders. Rinse and line dry or wash as normal.
What’s that smell?
The natural gum that binds the silk cocoon together is called sericin. Sericin is believed to be beneficial to the health of your skin, much like the lanolin in wool, as it contains many essential amino acids. The sericin is also responsible for the natural fragrance of silk fabrics, which will subside after several washes.
