The Surge is essentially a bigger, heavier-duty version of the very popular Wave tool, especially great for those who use the saw and file often. Built with strong jaws the Surge delivers more squeezing force with less effort, helping you to cut stronger hard & regular wire.
 
The blade exchanger lets you choose between a saw or a diamond & wood/metal file and lets you easily replace these tools when they are worn out. The 154CM wire cutters are replaceable, meaning you can repair or re-sharpen them on the spot. The blade exchanger, two knives & extra-strong scissors are easily accessed from the outside of the tool. Inside the sculpted handles are two-bit drivers, a hollow ground screwdriver, bottle/can opener & a awl with a thread loop.

Love it!

I have never owned or used a Leatherman product so I did a lot of research before I decided on the Surge. The Wave gets a lot of love from users, particularly those that carry them on a belt or pocket. I'm not that kind of person. I have large hands, so the size was never going to be an issue. I noticed that a lot of YouTube reviewers who test a lot of EDC's consider the Surge as their favourite. It may be heavier and bit larger but every tool it has is that much sturdier. I like the detachable saw or file that can use 3rd party saw blades. I like that every tool locks. I also like the large sturdy scissors that are on one of the four outer slots. I also bought the bit driver set and the ratchet driver. The Surge is my "go to" tool for most everyday tasks.
