Charged it up and then tested it out - certainly chucks out the light even when coiled up and still it the bag.
Next test will be in the field after lockdown.

This is an amazing unit. Easy recharge, wonderfully adaptable as you can angle it as needed and having low, high and flashing settings a great tool to have camping and in your vehicle too. Highly recommend.
